Giles Somehow these tracks hit the sweet spot of having emotional drive and payoffs without feeling like they're just 'highlights reels' stolen from earlier minimalist composers, or like academic exercises. The instrumentation/production is fantastic too and never sounds tinny or fake. In both the long tracks and the slow tracks themes and timbres evolve at just the right rate to be engaging but also to let you enjoy each stage of the overlapping lines. Excellent!

This album, my sixth solo classical/minimalist album, is a cross between a new album (containing 30 minutes of new music) and a retrospective of some of my favourite tracks from his previous releases, and mostly consists of material not previously available on Bandcamp.

I entirely understand if some people who like my rock music don't like my classical/minimalist music. On the other hand, if you like the bits between the songs in our Hats Off Gentlemen It's Adequate albums, wish they were much longer and obsessively developed small fragments of melodic material into slowly evolving emerging patterns, and/or don't like my singing, then it is plausible you might like these instrumental pieces.

Prog can be accused of being backward looking in terms of instrumentation and production. No way with this lot. Loops, drum loops alongside the melody. Prog done modern IMO. Chris Emmerson
